UC Berkeley Hildebrand Hall HVAC Modernization
Six story laboratory building at UC Berkeley. The renovation project includes the conversion of the building's existing HVAC system from constant volume to variable air volume. Alter Consulting Engineers served as mechanical and controls engineer of record for the renovation project. The mechanical scope of work included design, specifications, and documentation for the conversion of the laboratory building's existing HVAC system from constant volume to variable air volume. The controls renovation included the conversion of the building's decentralized control system to the campus standardized central ALC control system. The renovation project is expected to reduce the buildings annual energy use by as much as 25%.
