Tang Center - UC Berkeley
Rooftop HVAC for a Student Service Center
This multi-phase renovation at UC Berkeley's Tang Center, a mixed-use health services and office facility, involved the replacement of aging rooftop HVAC equipment. Alter Engineers designed the mechanical replacement of two large air handling units and four exhaust fans. The new air handlers use R-32 refrigerant, a pure, non-blended compound selected for its serviceability, as it allows for simple top-offs rather than full system replacement in the event of a leak.
